The Flat Panel HEPA Filter—also known as panel-type HEPA filter or high-efficiency air filter—is a high-efficiency air filtration product made by encapsulating HEPA high-efficiency filter media into an outer frame through flat-panel pleating. The filter media is folded and pleated into a wavy structure, achieving a greatly enlarged effective filtration area within a limited volume, and is the most common and core filtration component in equipment such as household air purifiers and fresh-air systems.
